EVeez, a homegrown electric mobility-as-a-service (eMaaS) platform, has secured $5.4 million in Series A funding to scale its electric two-wheeler subscription service, with a sharp focus on India’s rapidly growing gig economy. The funding round was led by the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, alongside participation from Caret Capital, ThinKuvate, Ev2 Ventures, Barbershop With Shantanu, SailThru Ventures, and Ah Ventures Fund.
The fresh capital will support EVeez’s expansion efforts across India, helping gig workers, particularly those from low-income urban communities, access clean, affordable mobility solutions through its flexible weekly subscription model. Starting at ₹1,100 per week, EVeez’s service removes the upfront burden of vehicle ownership, enabling users to seamlessly join platforms in food delivery, quick commerce, ride-hailing, and e-commerce.
Currently operating a fleet of 7,000 electric vehicles across 15 cities, EVeez plans to scale its operations to 30 cities and 50,000 vehicles by FY27. Notably, 55% of its current riders are first-time gig workers, while the remaining 45% have transitioned from internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. According to the company, those switching to EVs have experienced a rise in take-home income driven by lower fuel and maintenance costs.
According to Abhishek Dwivedi, Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of EVeez, “With India projected to have more than 20 million gig workers in the near future, EVeez is strategically positioned to revolutionise how this workforce accesses clean mobility solutions. We are committed to greening the last mile and making electric mobility accessible to everyone participating in the gig economy."
By FY27, the company aims to help over 40,000 new gig workers join the workforce through its services.
Prachi Windlass, Head of India at the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, noted, “EVeez is opening the door to India’s booming delivery and gig work market for thousands of young people. With a low-cost subscription model, increased earning potential, and practical benefits like insurance, it’s giving gig workers more control over how, when, and how much they earn, and creating real opportunities for independent work.”
EVeez’s growth reflects a broader shift in India’s mobility landscape, where affordability, sustainability, and digital platform integration are increasingly shaping how the workforce moves and earns.
