Yinson GreenTech, through its electric vehicle leasing division drivEV, has entered into a strategic collaboration with Permodalan Darul Ta’zim (PDT) to accelerate Johor’s transition toward sustainable mobility. PDT, wholly owned by the State Secretary of Johor, plays a pivotal role in advancing investments that align with the state’s long-term environmental and development objectives.
The partnership, formalised through a Memorandum of Collaboration (MoC), will explore joint initiatives across the electric mobility ecosystem. Key focus areas include expanding EV leasing solutions and strengthening Johor’s charging infrastructure network. Both organisations have emphasised that the collaboration will prioritise long-term commercial feasibility and sustainability.
The announcement took place at the launch of Johor’s Green Development Policy 2030, a comprehensive roadmap guiding the state’s sustainability journey over the next decade. The ceremony was graced by Her Royal Highness Raja Permaisuri Agong Raja Zarith Sofiah, Her Highness Che’ Puan Mahkota Khaleeda Johor, and Johor’s Chief Minister, Dato’ Onn Hafiz bin Ghazi.
As part of the initiative, Yinson GreenTech currently provides PDT with three electric passenger vehicles, with plans for further expansion of the fleet to support the state’s decarbonisation efforts. The collaboration aims to reduce operational emissions while enabling wider adoption of clean mobility options.
Kelvin Soon, Managing Director of drivEV, highlighted the shared vision underpinning the partnership. “We are committed to helping organisations transition to electric vehicles through practical, cost-effective solutions that reduce carbon output,” he said.
During the event, Yinson GreenTech also showcased its range of EVs and its smart digital application, demonstrating the potential of technology to enhance fleet performance and operational efficiency. By FY2025, the company had deployed approximately 400 EVs to corporate clients across Malaysia and Singapore, contributing to an estimated reduction of 62.4 tonnes of carbon emissions.
